Approximately 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events swept through the area, generating wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.

Large Hailstones and Broad Impact

Locals reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.

Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with continued storm activity predicted across different parts of both regions.

Public health experts alerted that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the current weather patterns.
